Campus Pre-Seminary Grant
What is PROJECT CONNECT: Calling Leaders for a Changing World?
Project Connect is an initiative of the Eastern Cluster of Lutheran Seminaries (Philadelphia, Gettysburg, and Southern). These seminaries are part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Project Connect is funded by a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.
The purpose of Project Connect is to organize an enthusiastic network of church leaders to mentor and provide theologically sound vocational discernment programs for young adults.
This endeavor will be accomplished by identifying young adults who are active in church life; nurturing relationships with those who are open to a process that extends, deepens, and provides focus for vocational discernment; and sustaining these relationships by providing profound experiences in congregational ministry.
Who should apply for a Campus Pre-Seminary Group Grant?
Campus ministers, college chaplains, and other leaders who relate to colleges and universities are invited to apply for grants of up to $500.
What can the grants be used for?
Grants are intended for programs and activities that help students to discern their sense of call. We especially want to encourage those students who are sensing a call to public ministry. What organizations are grants available to?
Grants are available to organizations in ELCA Regions 7, 8 and 9. ELCA colleges and universities, Lutheran Student Movement groups, campus ministry groups, and congregations involved in campus ministry.
What is the application deadline?
